Attention Hip Hop: Joell Ortiz.

Now, as I was on the L train today, I decided that I wanted to make a blog on my website. As I fucked with my iPod touch and looked through almost every single album I had on there, I stumbled upon something. Now, I’m an avid music listener. I have everything from ‘The Josh Guru Project’ to ‘Britney Spears’ to ‘Slaughterhouse’ to ‘Jay-Z’ and ‘Drake’. So as I was looking through it and clicking on random songs I haven’t listened too, I realized something. I hadn’t listened to Joell Ortiz’s debut album ‘The Brick: Bodega Chronicles’ in a while. So as I was playing the songs, I also realized another thing. Joell Ortiz is the best rapper out there right now. Yeah. And I also thought of a few questions too.. like Why the fuck isn’t he a multi-platinum artist right now?, Why would Dr. Dre slip up on that?, How isn’t he mainstream? and finally Why don’t other people know this?

Now, I could easily write on about how Joell Ortiz is the best rapper out there, or I could try to prove it to you in my horrible writing skills (89 average in English, Mr. Keaney wadup?). Now, there are several reasons why I think Joell Ortiz should smash up hip hop..

• His rhymes are fuckin’ amazing. Yup. I said it. I was listening to some SlaughterHouse rhymes and this dude rips up everyone. I could easily take some from ‘Onslaught’, the first SlaughterHouse song that was released (as the super group) where he says ‘It’s J-O-E double would I never take/Whoever feels like they could give me my first one than set a date/I’ll be there like a young Mike Jack/Hip Hop prayed to God and brought Pun right back’. And that’s how Onslaught ended. That alone shows you that he’s a Monster.
• He can bring New York back. Don’t all you fucking ‘Hip-Hop Heads’ want New York to be back? Isn’t that what people like DJ Kay Slay, 50 Cent, Nas, Jay-Z want? Why don’t you put some faith into this kid and give him a beat or something and watch how he rips it up. I guarantee if he was given a push or some fucking assistance to get a good beat, he’d write a smash. There’s fucking major label pushes in Gucci Mane and Max B (who’s dumbasses both got jailtime now.. Max B got 75 years today exactly.) and you’re telling me you can’t invest in a Major Label deal for Joell Ortiz? Sure Dre let him go, but according to Joell he wanted to dip from there (probably cause he’d end up lookin like a dick ‘ala Bishop Lamont). You give him a push he’ll be a monster. He’s from Cooper Projects, around the area where I grew up, and trust me he isn’t lying.
• He’s a cool guy and He loves making music. I personally don’t know him. But a few of the people I grew up with do. And from what I’ve heard he’s a pretty dope person. I mean I saw him a shitload of times on Joe Budden TV and he seems like he’s cool. But I don’t know him so I wouldn’t be able to say. But most importantly he LOVES what he does. He has so much fun doing what he does. You can tell through the microphone that he spits his verses on. The DJ Kay Slay Freestyle that Slaughterhouse did themselves you could HEAR that he’s having mad fun as he’s doing what he does.

So Lemme sum it up:

1. He’s an amazing lyricist.
2. He’s real New York.
3. He loves what he does. And he’s cool.

Isn’t that all you need with an artist? So if anyone sees this, spread the word. Joell Ortiz is the future, but he should be the present. All I wanna see is ‘Free Agent’ come out, or maybe his fucking debut album come out. YAOWA!

Incarcerated rapper Remy Ma wrote her fans from jail to express her thoughts on C-Murder, Wendy Williams and her marriage with Papoose.

Remy also revealed what she misses most about freedom.

“I really miss everything but I especially can’t wait to get back in the studio and onstage again, I’ve been writing like crazy,” she wrote in a blog entry. “First off I’d like to send love to C-Murder, his family and children…Some people are aware, but I realize that a lot of people don’t know that I have a son. He just turned 9 years old and I was able to celebrate his birthday with him and Pap, they stayed with me for 5 days and 4 nights. We had so much fun. I cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday, I baked cookies, cakes, and banana pudding. We watched movies, played board games and took a lot of pictures…I just want to say that I so love the ‘Wendy Williams Show.’ I try to watch it everyday. I love watching the videos that are sent in of little kids saying ‘How You Doin?’ I couldn’t pay my son to do that! I have to go on her show though when I get home.” (Global Grind)

Papoose, recently updated fans on Remy’s overall well-being.

“Remy, she’s maintaining and she’s getting through it,” Pap explained in an interview with Jenny Boom Boom earlier this summer. “I visit her every other day at this point and kids want autographs from both of us. In the beginning I was there everyday, but I got a lot of things to maintain out here so I’m there every other day. Yup [we're married.]…[The wedding] was the best it could possibly be. It’s something that I’m proud of and we’re gonna stick by each other…Her son is good money, he’s maintaining. He goes to see her from time to time…We’re just teaching him the right things, letting him know his mother is gonna be out here soon…Dudes really don’t hold females down when it comes to these situations. Remy received an eight-year sentence in May 2008.

The former Terror Squad member turned herself in to New York police in July 2007 for the shooting of Makeda Barnes-Joseph outside a nightclub. Between dates on the “America’s Most Wanted Music Festival” the 19-year-old rapper has been hitting the studio, crafting tracks for Mr. West’s fifth album. “I’m working on Kanye’s next album right now. We working together on production because he makes beats and I make beats.” Souljah Boy tells Rap-Up.com. “Right now I’m remixing a couple of records for him.”

In return, ’Ye is also contributing some of his Grammy-winning material for Soulja Boy’s third LP The DeAndre Way. “I’m actually working on [Kanye's] album while he’s working on my album.”

West defended the “Crank That” MC when he came under attack from Ice-T last year. “Soulja Boy is fresh as hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip-hop is supposed to be,” he wrote in a blog entry. “He came from the ’hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound, and a new dance with one song. If that ain’t hip-hop, then what is?”

Hova Da God lets us know that his next album is going to be ‘so experimental’ it won’t be a number 1 album. I find that quite funny cause in my opinion – - BP3 isn’t going to be a number one album either. It’s the biggest trash I heard and was a serious disappointment. I love Hov though. I just wasn’t into Bp3. Maybe his next album is going to be a whole album with that horrible English accent he’s been trying to rap with..
